About Vorn Morris
Vorn is a highly experienced tattoo artist with over two decades dedicated to the craft. His work centres on Japanese-inspired large-scale tattooing, particularly dragons and traditional motifs, built with strong composition, solid linework, and heavy blacks designed to hold structure over time. Each piece is created to flow naturally with the body, maintaining impact both up close and at a distance while ageing with clarity and balance.
He began tattooing in 2004 in his hometown of Kapiti, New Zealand, after discovering tattooing almost by accident and immediately committing himself to learning the craft. Starting by tattooing friends and acquaintances, he quickly developed his skills and later opened his own studio, becoming the only tattoo artist in the area at the time. What began organically evolved into a lifelong profession, and over more than 20 years of daily practice he has built a disciplined and efficient approach rooted in experience and consistency.
Vorn places strong importance on longevity in his designs, favouring larger compositions, clear structure, and controlled use of colour. He believes strong foundations, confident lines, and carefully balanced tones are what allow a tattoo to remain readable and powerful as it ages. His process begins with a focused consultation discussing ideas, placement, and symbolism, after which clients typically trust him to interpret their concept into a cohesive piece suited specifically to their body.
Inspired by natural forms, landscapes, and architectural details, Vorn draws from observation and imagination to develop compositions that feel both traditional and personal. He particularly enjoys multi-session projects such as sleeves and back pieces, where he can gradually refine and polish the work as it heals between sessions, watching the full composition come together over time.
Working in a private appointment studio allows him to maintain complete concentration throughout the day. The one-on-one environment creates a relaxed experience for the client while allowing Vorn to stay focused and work at his highest level. Known for his calm manner, efficiency, and reliability, he approaches every session with the same goal — to produce strong, enduring tattoos that will continue to hold their presence for many years.
